Continue to build your skillset as new techniques are introduced. Specifically, bezel setting cabochons in a more advanced ring than the project that was fabricated in Introduction to Silversmithing. Students will also have the opportunity to acquire additional skills, including but not limited to stamping, hammer texturing and roll printing.

Prerequisite: CCA Introduction to Silversmithing (no exceptions, please)

Instructor: Kathy Pritchett

My courses are about learning sound techniques to foster your ability to create beautiful pieces of jewelry. Each class is designed to help the student's ability by building on the techniques learned in the previous class. The goal is to inspire confidence through the repetition of skills while expanding into new areas.

Specialized tools are required. See supply list for details.

Please note the following guidelines:
Please do not come to class high (this includes, but is not limited to marijuana and/or alcohol). This is important on many levels, but quite simply:

  • It makes technical communication difficult at best.
  • Many of the tools and chemicals we use can be dangerous if not used properly.

COVID protocol:
Since there has been an uptick in cases, please make sure to keep a mask in your toolbox. At the very least you'll use it when you're polishing.

Also, if you have traveled recently, please consider getting tested and wearing a mask in class until you test negative for COVID.

Please wear your mask in class if you think you're experiencing allergies or have a cold, until absolutely sure that you don't have COVID. Thank you so much for your continued commitment to a safe and welcoming environment for all of us.
