5:30-8:30pm.
Pre-req. for Level I: CCA Introduction to Silversmithing. No exceptions please.
Pre-req. for Level II,III: CCA Introduction to Casting Level I
Experience the ancient art form of lost wax casting in a contemporary setting. Learn techniques to carve and sprue wax models and cast your projects using a variety of casting methods.
Level 1
- Introduces the variety of waxes and carving techniques and tools. Learn the entire process from carving to polishing your finished pieces.
Level 2
- Focuses on carving waxes suitable for stone setting and stone inlay.
Level 3
- Covers advanced carving techniques and casting organic materials.

Please note the following guidelines:
Please do not come to class high (this includes, but is not limited to marijuana and/or alcohol). This is important on many levels, but quite simply:
- It makes technical communication difficult at best.
- Many of the tools and chemicals we use can be dangerous if not used properly.
COVID protocol:
Since there has been an uptick in cases, please make sure to keep a mask in your toolbox. At the very least you'll use it when you're polishing.
Also, if you have traveled recently, please consider getting tested and wearing a mask in class until you test negative for COVID.
