Intermediate Silversmithing II & III
July 6 - Sept 14 [no class Sept 7 in observance of Labor Day]
5:30-8:30pm

INTERMEDIATE II

This class goes beyond setting oval and round cabochons to learning to set stones with corners such as squares and rectangles. Students will partner with the instructor to create their own design. They will then devise their own supply list and order materials with instructor guidance.

Prerequisite: CCA Intermediate I (no exceptions, please)

INTERMEDIATE III

Uplevel the fabrication skillset honed in Intermediate I and II with a deep dive into stone setting techniques focused on pear-shaped (teardrop) and marquis cuts, as well as tube setting faceted stones.

Prerequisite: CCA Intermediate II (no exceptions, please)

Please note the following guidelines:
Please do not come to class high (this includes, but is not limited to marijuana and/or alcohol). This is important on many levels, but quite simply:

  • It makes technical communication difficult at best.
  • Many of the tools and chemicals we use can be dangerous if not used properly.

COVID protocol:
Since there has been an uptick in cases, please make sure to keep a mask in your toolbox. At the very least you'll use it when you're polishing.

Also, if you have traveled recently, please consider getting tested and wearing a mask in class until you test negative for COVID.
