After being educated at Fort Lewis College in visual arts and elementary education, Nancy spent her career as an artist and arts instructor. She specialized in kiln work, first as a production potter for 25+ years, then as a fused glass artist and a kiln fired jewelry artist. She currently teaches metal clay through the Four Corners Gem and Mineral Club in Durango as well as in her home studio. Nancy recently completed Hadar Jacobson’s first year long accreditation program. Previous to this intensive accreditation course, she has taken 5 workshops with Hadar over the past 6 years. Hadar selected 4 of Nancy’s pieces to be published in her 2011 book, “Patterns of Color in Metal Clay, Canes, Gradients, Mokume-Gane.” Nancy was also certified to teach PMC through Rio Grande’s certification program with Barbara Becker Simon 4 years ago.
